Gingerbread Houses

For a fun activity before Sunday dinner (which took longer to cook than expected, because grandma forgot to turn the oven on...LOL) , they made gingerbread houses. I think they did an AWESOME job. They built them in 40 minutes!! So watch out, Extreme Home Makeover :) lol Henry and Harrison had tons of fun helping out and eating the candy of course. I was having my own fun at work. Henry said that he would be able to show me how to build a gingerbread house now, so I just might take him up on that! Wow, only 12 till Christmas, and Jeffs phone call.. SO EXCITED!!! About both of course. The snow is all but melted in our yard, it looks like spring time. But, to be honest I don't mind that much :) Well, I will post the pictures now of their fun filled evening of gingerbread house making :) Till next time...... :)

Winter time!!

Tis the season!!! Wow, I cannot believe Christmas is in 17 days :) CRAZY, and I am not close to having all the shopping done, and still need to get the trampoline taken down..... I did however get all of our Christmas cards mailed :) So that is nice!! It has been very cold this winter!! The boys are behaving, and are anxious for Santas visit, though you would not be able to tell Harrison is excited due to one of the pictures :) You will know which one :) Henry is doing very well in school. He got to 10 points on AR tests (he takes tests on the books he reads) He has been reading the Henry and Mudge series and really enjoys them. He has decided that if he ever has a dog he wants to name it Mudge!! Okay :) He helped write names on envelopes for Christmas cards and even wrote Santa a letter. He loves playing out in the snow as long as he is bundled up!!! :)
Harrison is a character what can I say?? He has been pretty funny lately. Derek put the tree up (and our Christmas lights up on our house, they are Christmas Decor) not too long ago, and Harrison and Henry "helped". lol After the tree was up, Derek plugged it in. As soon as Harrison realized it was plugged in, he RAN over to the tree and yelled "FIRE!!" then started blowing on the lights!! It was one of the funniest things ever!! He did have his first official sleepover last Friday night at Gma and Gpas in Logan (the picture of the boys and Granpda P is when he picked them up for the sleepover). Harrison didn't get banned from from future sleepovers, but we were informed, it might be a "while" till HE is invited for another. :) lol
Things are going well. Derek and I had a rare, but awesome opportunity to go on a "date" we went to the Jazz game last Friday. They lost but it was fun. As I look back on this past year overall it has been a pretty good year! There are many things I am thankful for. Well, I will get to the part everyone looks at my blogs for, I will now download pictures!! ENJOY :) till next time....

Pumpkin Painter :)

So the other day while Henry was at school, Harrison was asleep and I had what has come to be very seldom and rare "quiet" time to myself. As I looked around the house I didn't know what to do with myself.....Do I take a nap?? What do I do??? So I went outside to get the garbage can hoping that the noise of it on the road would not waken the beast (harrison). As I approach the designated garbage can spot I noticed all of the pumpkins on our porch. 3 of which were plain. So I got some Q-tips, paint and newspaper from grocery store ads and had some fun :) Enjoy :) I know I'm a nerd!! ;)

The Hardy Hoopstas (henry named the team)

The boys went and shot hoops together Saturday, they both have very good shots :) Henry of course gives us a play by play as he dribbles the ball and shoots he was even hitting from "downtown" ;) I really would not be surprised if he is Al Lewis' replacement someday. Can you get a full ride to college for sports commentating? lol It's funny though I guess Harrison is getting ready to be a true Utah State fan, sometimes when Henry or Derek would shoot, he would say "AAAYYBAAAHH" (airball) they love playing bball. I love just watching them.

A Hardy Party (haha that's what Henry said)

This past weekend Henry had a birthday party with some friends :) He had a really fun time, they ate pizza, painted pumpkins for halloween ,jumped on the trampoline and hit a pinata VERY hard, if these boys are in t-ball next spring the other teams better watch out . ;) And then just ran around chasing each other like what boys do! I still can't believe how old Henry is. Here are some pics of his fun party!!!

Rise and shine the Cougars are out!

Henry woke up Friday morning and said "What day is it?" before I could answer he said, "GAME DAY!!" He was pumped and ready from the moment he woke up. He wore his Utah State uniform to school, and pretended that the bus was the 'team bus' that day :) After he got home from school, it was prep time!!! Harrison, was ready to wear his official game day shirt. And Henry was excited to get his face painted, he chose to have QB #12 on his face. I asked him why 12? he said ,"because mom, Borel is my boy!" lol and because last time he did that they won. SO after all the preparation and packed bags, we were on our way into Logan. First we had to make a quick stop to the Budge and the boys received their immunizations :( After the shots came the Ibuprofen, then we headed to the stadium.
It had been a long and dreary 17 years since the Aggies last defeated the boys from Provo. But, would history repeat itself?? We arrived at the stadium early to ensure "our seat." (where my fam always sits and the Vanluewens ;) My moms sister Susan and husband Benny came up from Utah County, they had come to cheer for......the Aggies. Of course, or they WOULD have sat elsewhere ;) The game had a slow start, then Borel hit Martin on a 79 yd touchdown pass and the route WAS ON!!! It was great. The offense was running on all cylinders and the defense was alive and well!!!! It was AWESOME. We also saw the Cooleys at the game seated not too far from us. They cheered for USU also. Which is great! I do believe that it was a game time decision for one of them though, which team they would cheer for. In the end Mckenzie made the right choice and dawned the TRUE BLUE...USU!!! Way to choose :) The boys were both great at the game. And after the game Henry went down on the field with Grandpa and Grandma and saw some of the players. One guy he saw was Tai Wesley, he picked Henry up and put him on his shoulders and told him to show everyone who was #1. He also got a picture of Aubry she is one of Jeffs friends who is an Aggiette. It was a good day!! Way to go AGGIES :)

Vrysnesis Meningas (Elder Manning)

My dad sent me some pictures of Jeff today, and I was so excited to get them. I wanted to post them on here to let you all who know him, see that he is doing AWESOME and what a strapping young man or man he is becoming. I love my little bro we have always been pretty close. I am thankful for the strength and example he is to me and my boys :) Enjoy the pics ;) I will post pics of him every now and then! He has been out in the field now for almost 9 months in a way it has flown by (if you say that in front of my mother, take a step back right after:) lol!!

Utah State hey Aggies all the way...Go Aggies, Go Aggies hey hey hey!!!

We went to our first Aggie game of the season last Saturday, courtesy of an early birthday present for Henry and I from Grandma and Grandpa. It was a fun game to watch and if you ask Henry, Borel had a great game because Henry had his number on his face. lol Henry was your typical boy at a game, he watched and cheered, ran around a little (with the VanLeuwen boys) and he even ate a hot dog. Believe it or not Harrison, was good and sat the whole game, and ate popcorn :), he would yell, cheer, and threw his arms in the air and say "Uhtdow" (touchdown) when the Aggies scored. Plus, it was AWESOME attendance 17,500 woohoo amazing environment. We are planning on going to the Fresno game tomorrow, so we will let ya know how that goes!! We BELIEVE!!
