Bunkbed brothers

I have come to conclude there are certain advantages of being the first child married (Derek), and having the first grandkid (Henry). Hand me downs! :) Dereks mom and dad gave a us an older twin bed for Henry when he was 2 and ready to transition to a big boy bed. Derek took the bed and painted it a fun lighter blue color. Fast forward 4 years and now is Harrisons turn to transition into a big boy bed, Dereks parents had given us the other matching twin bed. Due to the small room the boys are in, we needed 'space saving' beds, luckily these beds can be bunk beds! They are actually bunk beds Derek and his brothers grew up with. I was told no injuries were sustained over the years due to these bunk beds, so after some convincing and reassurance that they were safe, I approved of doing the 'bunk bed' thing. They are very nice and sturdy bunk beds. If you were to go and buy some at the store of this high quality with the 3 drawers and bookshelf headboards it would cost a very pretty penny. lol (that I probably wouldn't want to pay)

Derek took his spare time and sanded the beds down, when those were prepped we went to Home Depot where uncle Justin works and had some nice navy paint mixed up. It took a few days to get the paint on, thankfully grandpa Wayne let us paint them in his spare room by the garage. Thank you Wayne :) Derek did a VERY nice job and I was tickled and very pleased with the finished product!! Good job bud!!

The boys were VERY excited about the bunk beds (as you will see in the pictures). I had mixed emotions I just wondered, will Harrison roll out? Or when will the first broken arm occur?? I tend to worry about things probably more than I should! lol Well I am happy to report that the first week we are injury free, although Harrison did roll out of the bed the first night, but being the responsible and loving parents we are we went and bought a rail the next day :) he has been roll out free since :) Really the only issues has been, Harrison will wake up in the middle of the night go and turn on the light and say, "HENRY, aaaykup!" (wake up) and the fact that Harrison knows how to climb onto Henrys bed ladder free! He climbs on the footb0ard like a little monkey in the jungle, but really did we expect anything less from him??? It is Harrison! lol And I have enjoyed a full nights sleep!!

Thanks again t0 Grammanita and Grandpa Wayne for the beds. Derek, you did an AMAZING JOB!! You are my Tim the tool man Taylor (grunt, grunt, grunt) love ya :)

USU Basketball Game

We had a fun opportunity to go to a USU
basketball lately, and sat right behind the Aggie bench it was AWESOME!! Harrison prepared himself for the game by walking around the house that day saying, "AIRBALL, and LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT!" It was pretty funny to watch and listen to him. You gotta start these Aggie fans early....right?

The saying 'Third times the charm' would definitely apply to this game we witnessed something that I am not sure has EVER happened in a college basketball game. During halftime Tai Wesley did his routine warm up and ended with a dunk which SHATTERED the backboard. He quickly walked away from the hoop like a little kid that knew he had just done something wrong, and didn't want daddy (Stew Morrill) to know......the feeling of being in trouble, quickly turned into fun time as he walked over to the student section and flexed his muscles and celebrated his breaking of the backboard, the student section ERUPTED with cheering and praising the strentgh of Tai!
Shortly after the breaking of the backboard, they announced that there would be a 10 minute halftime delay.......bring out the replacement.....which they did, just as it looked like it was game time again, and they were about done with the replacement, the backboard cracked and shattered!! They had screwed it a little too tight! The already restless student section ERUPTED once again, taunting the backboard crew with it's famous well known "STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!" chant, as they pointed the fingers of shame and disgust :)
The announcer came across the spectrum speakers and said that the start of the second half would be delayed further, forget about the 10 minute halftime delay huh?? Finally, I they bring out the third hoop, a portable which thankfully required no work. So what was originally supposed to be a 10 minute halftime delay turned out to be a 50 minute delay.

It was a great second half and the AGGIES WON!! The boys loved the game. One other thing you don't see very often in a college game is the AGGIES scored 100 points!!!
After the game Henry was able to get his picture taken with Rob Flygare who is a radio announcer (he did all of Jeffs high school games) and Brady Jardine, he is a white guy with some WICKED dunking skills :) It was an AWESOME night!!

Dad had a birthday shout HOORAY!

It has been a while since I last blogged, and since my last blog, Derek became one year older :) And because I love him so much I will not mention his age and say that he is one year away from 30.
We were able to get him a fun birthday present! A nice comfortable leather recliner :) It TOTALLY surprised him. He loves it and the boys love sitting in it. So HAPPY (belated)BIRTHDAY Bud!! WE LOVE YOU :)
